🌿 Listening Beyond the Mind:
Using Your Body to Make Choices

Decision-making can feel overwhelming, especially when options are complex or emotions run high. Often, we rely on the mind alone, weighing pros and cons, but neglect the wisdom already present in our bodies.

Somatic coaching invites you to include the body in this process. Your body holds clues to your desires, fears, and intuitive knowing. By noticing sensations — a tension in the chest, a lightness in the stomach, a shifting energy in the shoulders — you can access insights that the mind alone might miss.

The Body as Compass

When we slow down and listen, subtle signals guide us toward choices that align with our values and needs. For example:

  • A tight jaw might signal hesitation or misalignment.

  • A lifted chest may indicate excitement or alignment.

  • A sinking feeling could show that something feels off.

How to Practice

  • Check-in: Pause before making a decision. Close your eyes and notice physical sensations.

  • Notice Reactions: Identify tension, ease, or energy shifts.

  • Reflect with Curiosity: Ask, “What is my body trying to tell me about this option?”

Somatic coaching helps you build this relationship with your body, turning inner signals into a reliable compass. Decision-making becomes less stressful, more grounded, and aligned with your authentic self.
